But before that! It's been 5 months since my last post! During which.. TEENS CONFERENCE happened! Along with a whole bunch of other things, which makes me wish I updated more frequently than I do =( but I'll try to recap.
Teens Conference 2011. What can I say? There's nothing like 4 epic days of cheering, games-leading, dancing, etc. N just seeing the kids open up and be insanely energetic is AWESOME. God is working through this ministry to spread the Word, raise new leaders, and form relationships of all kinds! Being a rec-member for the second year, I knew what to expect during the weeks and weeks of prep, as well as the 4 days of intensive labor! Yes, playing games is HARD WORK! I met quite a few newbies this year and saw many old familiar faces. This year's rec team has been amazing in its own way. Seeing the gifts each member possesses, building on each others strengths and supporting each others weaknesses.. that is REC. I'm really glad I had the opportunity to serve in this capacity once again and to have met everyone in this ministry. I'm soooooo freaking proud of how much work everyone put into making TC a successful + smoothly run event! As with every year, there are a ton of things on the agenda and it's really hard to allocate enough time for those items as well as setting aside time for team bonding, which is ESSENTIAL. We all had a role to play, whether it's in leadership, planning, acting, video related stuff, dancing, etc. I'm so proud of how well we all did, but more importantly, we had FUN doing it! n MOST importantly, we kept it in our hears that this is all for God! Each member on the team this year has been a blessing to me, in one way or another. I also learned the benefits of shamelessness XD but serious. One lesson (of many) that God really brought my attention to was that He is all that matters, no one else's opinion really matters, ultimately. PTL for His working hand in my life! At this point, roughly 2 months after the event, once again another lesson... this time in the form of a song at a coffeehouse. The lyrics are written by J-To, the song title being "Don't Believe the Hype". He truly has a gift that God clearly used to send me a message. Especially with an event like TC, the hype is crazy! It's so easy to get lost in it and lose track of what ultimately matters.. Jesus Christ. Hype is a great motivator for change, but we must continually take up our cross and live to follow Christ. He is our Saviour and without Him, we are nothing. At the same time, without commitment from our end, we can't expect Him to do all of the work. It's about time I equip myself with the weapons for spiritual battle: Faith, the Word, and Prayer. To any of you who are still somehow following this random blog, thanks! N I'd like to ask if you ever see me, challenge me by keeping me accountable to growing spiritually. I'm declaring a war on my sinful nature.
Wow.. that's quite a jumble of thoughts I've finally been able to solidify into a post! Now for the counting down... there are 5 wks left in my school term (including this week) and I have to say.. I feel a little overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to get done! x.x" Here are my things to do: 1) Health Promotion Group Project Proposal, 2) Ethics Final - Essay Outline (and thus the exam itself), 3) Technique (practical) exam, 4) Orthopedics practical test, 5) Diagnosis practical test, 6) Anatomy Study Guide, 7)6 Exams: Radiology, Health Promotion, Orthopedics, Anatomy, Diagnosis, and finally the OSCE (a summary of all the material we have learned this year). Looking at it, as long as I work hard and with God's continual support, I can do it =) I just need to continually work this month. I can't wait till the summer for some fun times, and perhaps taking the test to be a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).
That's all for now!
